Whats after flipping?

heh, so I had this game about a week, got past the first part of the learning curve (the one that says, "this game has all the graphic appeal of Deadlock, back to WoW")

So I read on the forums something about the Torian Confeds being a superpowered race, and that has been my first 2 multiverse goes at it. Only 1 go each at normal then challenging, both influence base and trade my ass off when somebody goes to war with me. I beat that race into submission in normal and slaughtered them in challenging. Then went back to subverting for the win(s).

Whats another good strat / race to try? The game will get old if I keep this up.

I assume that you have the latest version, Twilight of Arnor. I am new to the game too, and the first thing I can tell you is that you should play different races as well.

Since you have been heavily into influence and trading the last two games, I suggest you go with the Drengins and go for a pure military win. That will be sea change in the game that you get. Keep doing this, ie trying new races and new styles of victory, if you wish.

Or modify the race as you wish, within the bounds of the Metverse, which basically means that you can play with a different super ability. I am currently playing a metaverse game with the Drengins but with their super ability set to Super Breeder. I am hoping it will be awesome

If challenging becomes too easy, it's probably time to move on to tough + add a few more opponents. In my experience playing against only 1 AI is pretty straightforward, but a few more races in the game add to the difficulty:

- more constraints in the colony rush

- less chances of grabbing those precious resources

- more chances of getting declared war on, especially if they start ganging up on you

- more chances of falling behind in military / expansion / research / ...

And yes, changing your own race makes a huge difference!
