The signature thing was probably a mercy ban. This thread is getting huge, and the shorter the posts, the less likely the peoples up top will execute it before we (never) get bored with it.

No, it has always been a concensus that forums which allow stupidly large 'signatures' or postscripts to comments end up destroying the sense and continuity of the thread. Once you have seen some ego-centric dissertation on 'ain't-my-computer-specs-just-fantastic' stuck at the bottom of every other comment/reply it gets VERY OLD VERY FAST.
Users' comments on Stardock's sites/forums have space/place-holders at left for avatar, name...member number...join date, etc.
That SHOULD be sufficient.
There IS NO NEED to also 'sign' a comment. It's redundant.
