Well, it seems you must not blame the writers. That ending was actually not their doing, but rather a huge screw up on the head honchos. I found this comment on an ME soundtrack vid:
"Actually the lead producer and lead writer made up the ending on their own and rushed it through without usual checks from the actual writing team (who are many and who are to thank for ME's greatness). it's not in EA's interests to ruin something like ME3, they can smell money from a mile away and ruining the ending does not bring it - especially when they release the ExCut free of charge."
So I suppose the writers are gonna try to fix it now after that sad oversight........I'm confident that they can fix it, however they need to. The future is now quite uncertain for ME, but we can only hope that the guys at Bioware can pull off something good to make up for butchering ME3.
P.S Thanks for deciding to screw me over you bastards at Bioware, if I do end up somehow surviving it all I will make you pay.
