Hi all,
I've searched for this problem online and in the forums, and I didn't see a solution, so I'll ask it here. If I'm double posting, please let me know and link me to the solution!
I'm running GalCiv2: Twilight of the Arnor on a Windows Vista (32-bit) laptop. I have plugged into the laptop a Wireless Optical Mouse (2.0). Inside GalCiv2 (and as far as I can tell from other games, only inside GalCiv2) I'm having trouble with zooming in and out using the mouse wheel. It's not recognizing small movements of the wheel, only very large and fast movements. To go from the strategic view down to the tactical is taking a *lot* of hard spins on the mousewheel.
(The touchpad, by the way, scrolls fine - but I like the mouse for the middle button panning. I love to look at the ships and planets!
)
Things I've tried, which have not helped:
- Greatly increasing the mousewheel sensitivity in the "Mouse" control panel. This appears to have no effect inside GalCiv2.
- Turning on (or off) "accellerated scrolling" in the mouse control panel. Also no change.
- Installing the Intellipoint Drivers (and also uninstalling them). No change here.
- Driver updates: I believe I'm running the "right" version for all my hardware drivers.
- Increasing the zoom speed inside GalCiv2. This increases the size of each zoom "step", but doesn't seem to make the program recognize smaller movements of the wheel. I still have to really spin the wheel to get a zoom "step".
What else could I try? Has anyone else had this problem?
