Actually, from a lifetime of experience, women are not at fault for bringing sexism down upon ourselves.
I never said they did.
A man posted the question about women.
Sorry, but BlueJapan is female.
It's men who treat women gamers like some sort of anomaly, not women.
I've learned that general statements like that are rarely ever true. While anomalization is largely a male "difficulty", there are some women who do it as well. I deliberately did not refer to any gender group in my comment: I was just mentioning anomalizars as a whole.
Men talked about how women aren't on the internet, how all the women on the internet are really ugly or men, how women don't like wargames and prefer games aimed at women (whatever that's even supposed to mean). One man said that people are people and that no one should make a big deal about who they are, but then turned around and justified (badly, and in a sexist fashion) why it's okay for men to treat women like weird and unusual creatures when we show up anywhere near male gamers who apparently think they live in a world where women game so rarely that we must be treated as exotic and bizarre creatures to be ogled at like the Hottentot Venus.
I've also learned that the best way to deal with these people is just to ignore the. You mentioned Rush Limabugh: where would he be today if most people ignored
him?
And that example from that one guy about how women need to be second-class citizens because he might one day be called upon to give his life so that women and children might live? How melodramatic can you get? Seriously, do you routinely find yourself in a burning building or a sinking ship, being told to wait your turn so women can get out, thus killing you?
That's exatly what me and several other people said. Normally, I try to take my own advice and ignore those people, but even I draw the line at inflammitory statements that are factually wrong.
