share the How-To for a newbie

I recently downloaded this ship pack http://library.galciv2.com/index.aspx?m=845 but after almost an hour of trial and error I have to admit I have no idea where the components (.shipcfg and .xml files) go.

Please tell me where to put them (I'm using GalCiv2 Ultimate so do they go in GalCiv / Ships or Twilight / Ships etc

Its all so confusing - and I just want to play with some very nicely designed ships!

Thanks for your advice.

Well, I don't know much about Ultimate, but since this mod is for GC2 itself, I would say put it in the general area of files, as opposed to any subfolders with the names of expansions. Look for a folder called "mods" and open it up. Inside you will see a few files. Open the one named "data", and inside you will see a BUNCH of files. The ship templates go into the "templates" file, and the other ones go into "ships".

Depending on which version you wish to play on the GalCiv2 Ultimate:

DL folder: '...\My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2\ships'

DA folder: '...\My Documents\My Games\GC2DarkAvatar\ships'

TA folder: '...\My Documents\My Games\GC2TwilightArnor\ships'

I tested them on TA, and they work. Not sure about DL or DA as I don't really play those versions that much.
