Intenational Support Area

Is possibile create an international area on the forum ? for different language ex italian, ecc..

While a good thought, I haven't heard of any plans for anything like that; I'm just speaking as an average citizen, I don't work for WinCustomize...I don't even get pizza here

There are folks around who speak more than one language, but I don't know which languages nor the number. I do know that several speak Scandinavian languages...I don't know if that helps you, though...and there is one who speaks "Zubbish" (just a joke).

You might try emailing support@stardock.com and ask them about specific language support.

I think one potential problem is that while you are a good, public minded person with good motives, the site Moderators may not speak the languages of the posts by others and therefore won't be able to 'keep an eye' on what's being said.

Since Stardock sells software worldwide I would think that would take an enormous amount of resources. How many and which languages would be supported? What times of day and who's time(Stardock or users local time)?

Hopefully members step up to the plate on this and help where they can.For example,I have a translater for FF3 and if someone has trouble communicating in English,I'll do my best in their language. If it comes out weird I can always blame google.

This is bad idea. Its quite clear that you can write in English then why do you need regional or countrywise languages.

If we talk anything the others should be able to understand it except for private affairs or deals.

While it's not the most spoken language (in the world), it is the one most commonly spoken here (and probably in the business world)...sort of the lingua franca.

Having foreign language forums could be a good thing (as long as it clearly shows that there won't be any kind of support other than from other users). I think most people tend to try to write in English when posting in the main forums, even if they can't write it well (or worse using online translation). I personally won't think about posting in my first language in anything else than a specific forum as it would feel out of place. Because of that some people might not even try to post and seek support, which IMO is bad.

And remember that not all countries have a fluent english speaking population (cough France cough)...

Headquarters is in Paris.

International Language of Formula One, however is English.

In the Western world it IS the most commonly used.

And in skinning, likewise.

In games, however, there probably IS a case for an 'International' forum ....

@Jafo...maybe so...I was just considering the current crop of Mods. I suppose, since games interest me about as closely to zero as one can get, the existence of such a forum doesn't carry much weight with me (personally).

There is a wider public to consider...that's very true. I just thought a site like JU of their own would perhaps be more to the gamers' tastes and for that site, you are probably right. I didn't write my thoughts because of the OP. I speak only about four languages well enough to make myself understood. Hey...I believe that if things are made more convenient for customers, it's a better business practice.

  People of other languages can also use these translators to communicate here.  It might be a bit more cumbersome, but a workable forum in multiple languages isn't practical for most sites.

It's the most widely spoken language though. You have a heck of a bigger chance of finding an english speaking person than someone speaking madarin if you place yourself randomly on the planet a few times. Ofcourse, the most likely thing you'd need doing that would be some kind of seaworthy vessel.

Specialist language is a language which is spoken by a particular group. You can find English speakers everywhere but not Mandarin's. That is why to understand it, you will have to wait for a person who will come and decode it for you. Until then you will have to wait.

Don't say, you will use google translate or any web translator, what if you get a hand written billet-doux in some unknown language... Hey don't smile that's not goin to happen that's only if!!!!!!!..... How would you type...

English is the only global language. It might have lesser number of native apeakers but it is most wisely used.

Most wide spread , in certain situations or some specific working domains, probably but definitely not the only "global" language.

French & Spanish (Latinos or Brazil's portugese included) can match population levels as even or higher as what the UK & US can amount to.

It's not the quantity of people using different languages either but if the location where you're trying to be understood has a majority of similar cultural origins; SD is in Michigan, i'd rapidly get lost in Mumbai or Tokyo if only because local populations can't speak within my somehow restricted vocabulary(ies).
