So I stayed up WAY late last night playing a tiny game with three opponents, Dreg, Torians and Altarians, and I finally won!!, took the advice and knowledge I learned here and stomped the Dreg, then the Torians decided I was too powerful and came after me. But not Before I acsended and WON yay!!!!

Question, why were their frigates stomping my drednoghts?

I assume its because they were using mass drivers and I had shield right, so I have to go into the ship yard and upgrade them right, by putting the respective armor or whatever defense I may need on the ship then upgrade the ship itself right, I imagine thats how I do it but I didn't get a chance because I acsended before I could upgrade all my fleets, which by the way were getting pwned by the torians, had like 2 frigates decimating whole fleets of like 5 or six mediums was kinda embarassing but Im beyond mortal now so it doesn't matter
