Hi,
i've been looking on this forum for any indication of solutions towards my problem, but so far i've found none (or i'm not seeing them). I'll list several issues i seem to be having with GalCiv II & Dark Avatar (downloaded from impulse):
* when creating a new custom game (not campaign or metaverse) and when the game starts creating the galaxy (so on the splash screen with the tooltip) i see no tooltip and the game CTD's after about 10 seconds
* in GalCiv 2, i can't see any campaigns
* when (in Dark Avatar) select any campaign (vanilla or dark avatar), again no tooltips on the splash screen and it shows no text in communications with another race. it just shows a string that it cannot find the text string it needs (confusing i know)
* it's loads only 1 tutorial vid (in dark avatar)
Actions take so far:
* vid card is completely up to date, updated with the method described in this forum
* redownloaded both the game and expansion several times, tried installing in different locations
* verified the installations several times (impulse said that both games are installed correctly)
