I built a tech tree meant to simulate a psychic race. In play they are meant to have access to the 'good' defenses and the 'evil' offenses without restriction. I edited the required techs to have alignment requirement 'None'. The research path seems to work in game. Ships can be designed. An xml file is created. Once such ship is designed and saved it does not appear in the in game list of available starships.
The component editor doesn't appear to have a field for alignment, and I have yet to check to see if, as an example, the race is actually evil then evilly beweaponed ships work.
My question boils down to: Can a neutral race ever have a ship with evil and/or good only weapons defenses. Ideally the answer is yes, if you mess with the tech tree correctly and then edit an obscure flag in some tucked away xml file . . .
