Save Game Location

Dread Lords

I have GCII Dread Lords loaded on my home computer and had just started the Campaign. I recently went on a trip and loaded GCII on my work laptop so I could play it while I was away and got up to the Achilles' part. Now that I'm back home I want to continue playing the game on my home computer but I don't want to start from the beginning. I'd like to just copy the save games from my laptop to my home computer but I can't find the save game location.

I did a search on changed files in the GalCiv2 directory but only found a long filename with the dxscriptlocal extension. Where are the save games located?

Saved games for Dreadlords will be in your "C:\Documents and Settings\Username\My Documents\My Games\GalCiv2" folder. 

For campaigns, there's another folder within that one called "\Dread Lords Campaign".  I'm about 80% sure that the saved campaign games would be in there.

The easiest way to transfer all games would be to copy the entire "My Games" folder over from the laptop.  That'll get the race configurations and everything.

Bingo! Thanks. I also found where another of my games stores *its* save game files.

That is the standard spot for games that want MS certification.
