I steer away from mmorpgs, or mmo anything. Case in point: EverCrack.... oops, EverQuest. A friend of mine and I have lost all contact because of this game. I wonder if she's become trapped inside...
Halo 2: I'll buy it, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that it probably won't be as good, or as fresh as the original. But then again, once you've put something unique out there to entice millions of people into purchasing it (it's been cross-platformed to PC AND Mac, mind you), you kinda tend to up the bar way way high.
Half Life 2: Every time I see screenshots of this game I say "Ooh, look, pretty graphics" and I begin to wonder: is there a good story line? Half Life had a pretty good story line. I'm wondering if Half Life 2 is going to step up to the plate.
Republic Commando: I'm all for LucasArts trying to revamp itself and distract people from the current suckitude (yes, that's a word) of the Star Wars movies (note: I'm referring to the recently released "prequels"), but my head is spinning from all the titles out there. I often find myself lost, wandering around GameSpot, looking for a way out, all because of the number of Star Wars games around.
The Matrix Online: I won't buy it, but only because I don't buy MMORPGs. I'd like to see an MMORPG based on the premise of The Matrix, rather than the movie itself.
Other games I'd like to see:
Dungeon Keeper 3 - *sticks tongue out at EA*
A game based on "The Ring"
Any non-Resident Evil zombie game that DOESN'T suck (I'm thinking sorta like Eternal Darkness here, but without all the extra baddies).
A "Fatal Frame" meets "Silent Hill" type game.
Another Mortal Kombat, but bring back the classic characters, and the guy that pops out of the screen and says "Toasty!"
More games like Katamari Damacy, to waste time with.
A very realistic Golf sim like Tiger Woods that allows you to play Mini Golf (Tiger Woods Mini Golf Tour 2006?)
A sequel or update to "Afterlife" (not to be confused with "Alterlife")
Another Neverwinter Nights like game.
That's all I can think of. Stay tuned.
