That doesn't really answer my question, but I'll assume you just mean you're having trouble getting them to work on the forums. The [url][/url] tags don't work, so use the [img ][ /img] tags for the thumbnail and set the hyperlink (chain/infinity button in the reply editor) to the full image URL (which you can get to by clicking on the image after it uploads).
Granted, this wouldn't seem to be the issue you had in your original post, but replying with what would appear to be blank text, even when selected, reduces my help to attempts to be psychic.
