It isn't working like i wish it could.
It isn't exactly what I would like either. But that DOESN'T matter. They have ONE guy, just ONE, who I'm sure has other stuff to do too, that can possibly, maybe, help us out depending on the issue. We are NOT getting any code changes or nice new features. We hope that maybe we can get everything that we listed, mostly be medals, making sure scores update correctly, and even possibly the Senator function, fixed. And even then, we think those may be more forum related than MV, so we're not holding our breaths.
As for your points:
1.) I was pretty sure I-Mod Productions set up a ModMeta. Mods are not made or supported by Stardock, why should they support them in a MV? Yes, they allow them, and even have a Library, but its always at the PLAYER'S discretion.
2.) Whereas I think being able to build and support a large empire for a long period of time, shows just as much skill as winning quickly. i believe you had stated elsewhere that you thought faster wins should score higher. Maybe so, but I think you'd be in the minority on that one.
3.) Every game has its exploits. Mario 3 had P-Wings that allowed you skip entire stages practically. Its never gonna change, get over it. There are exploits and there are cheaters, there IS a difference.
4.) I don't have a response on this one. Mostly because I don't know what you are talking about.
5.) Seems tons of people score high enough WITHOUT "score grinding", like this one new guy in the Kzinti Empire that got over 300K just by doing things right. Nothing to scoff at.
6.) What constitutes an economic victory to you then, or military? Where some one takes the time to use planetary invasion on every single planet in te galaxy and have Surrenders disabled? I guess so, maybe, but who would play then? Its not that it couldn't be done, but there is playability issues. Remember that most people are MUCH more casual players than some you may see around here.
7.) Medals are an acknowledgement of accomplishments. To be honest, I don't pay too much attention to difficulty levels, I know that they aren't really a true indicator. But they are just for a person's own enjoyment.
and someone can QFT that
