Trade Embargos

Anyone find Trade Embargos effective?  Except for preventing trade between your Empire and their Empire it doesn't seem to do much.  I think it would have more of an effect if you could convince other Empires to do trade embargos with that Empire through Diplomacy.

I never use it for anything. The only time I used to use it was when I was trying to get another civ to declare war on me, because I thought it might have a diplomatic minus. But I could never actually see that it made a difference, so I stopped using it even for that.

I beliieve it's in the "relations" screen of the "foreign stats" page, & there is a checkbox in the lower left corner you can check to put an embargo in place.

i usually click it on after a war is over because by then I've crushed his trade routes and I know he will want to rebuild. I just think it would be more effective to get other empires to also embargo that empire at the same time.
