Interesting Mega Event Conundrum

Where's my firmware update!

I have had some odd mega event behavior in my last game.

While playing on a Small map, Normal AI, Custom Civ usuing the Yor Techtree Against the Humans and Altarian, I got the Disease Mega Event.

The Event WND stated I needed to research Xeno Medicine to find a cure.
From experience I knew I needed to get Disease Cure after that.

There is no Xeno Medicine in the Tree. I had to trade for it. Further more, There is no "Disease Cure" available for me to research. 

For those who beta'd. I'm assuming you research either Antivirus or Firewall, but they've been there since the start of the game.  Is that correct?

Fortunately/or not, despite my now apathy stricken citizens and their total lack of productivity (I didn't realize everythign in teh civ went to 0, even my logistics!), I had enough momentum to capture a few strategic planets and CF the humans, wining, so I never got to finish researching Antivirus and Firewall (1175 turns my rear end!)

In my first game I recieved 2 plague mega-events in the span of 20 turns.

Torians....dead

Mega events checkbox....dead

I am also wondering about the Antivirus and Firewall tech.s Any comments? Can the Yor research them early and be immune? Why are they so easy to get once you get your economy going?

I had the same event in my game as the Yor. After looking at the rest of the population graphs over about 20 weeks, I was not losing citizens - I was gaining them! I assume that as 'mechanic' life, the Yor are immune to such viruses - and I had the Firewall and Antivirus techs also pre-researched (good thing; they're pretty expensive!!) Just another 'hidden' reason to play the Yor, I suppose.

Please take note: here is Disease and there is Plague.

They are Different.

Plague will kill your citizens.

Disease will not - they are "apathy stricken" and assumingly, less productive. Hence the reason why my entire empire went to zero immediately after the event triggered. That was not fun.

This is about the Disease.

You can check the English.str file (in notepad/wordpad) and read the event window text. They are different and identified differently by the game.

I know from modding DA a bit, in some cases, techs will be displayed on the tree if you their pre-req doesn't exist. Perhaps anitvirus and firewall are there because there is no Xeno-medicine in the Yor tree?

Does anyone from the beta's or otherwise, have any experience with this?
