Does anybody even play the Drath in the new twilight expansion ?
I'm playing the latest build, 6c i think, and I find war profiteering very powerful.
I'm playin suicidal on a large map against max civs and minors using the drath myself and I'm winning easily.Tech victory and ascendancy are off though cause I dont like ascendancy atm and tech vict would make it too easy for the ai to win and i want to play a long game. Bonusses are in economy, diplomacy and science.
I start out with trying to colonize and researcdh as fast as possible. I start by going for translators and war profiteering. Once I start meeting alien races I contact them and set them to war by giving em tech. Usually by this time they are far ahead in tech, but there is always something usefull to trade. I try to make em go to war with as many civs as possible. Thats when the money starts to roll in. At the end of the first year Í'm making 2000 to 3000 credits in the plus. My sliders are usually at 33/33/33 and taxes are as low as possible to get 100% approval. No need usually to invest overly heavy in economy buildings or to bother with trade routes. I keep the wars between the ai's continuously going so as to max my war profiteering and that way they dont attack me. Why take on another race (me) if you're already at war with every other civ
Once I build a nice little fleet I attack. The Torians usually as with this build 6c they seem to be the best, their population growth and agressive colonizing seem to be incredibly overpowered compared to every other civ. You'd think the drath and korath would beat the crap out of them as the Torians usually dont bother to build defenses for the first few years, but nope..they are sitting still like bunnies. Or so it seems
cause they sure arent populating like bunnies.
I haven't finished this game on suicidal yet, but so far it looks like i'll win. Its a lot of fun though, on suicidal. The green blob is scary.
The other game I played with the drath was 2 difficulty levels lower, and i won that easily.
