It might be easier to help you if you tell us what version of the game you are playing, and what you did on the previous turn (the one you last clicked the turn button for).

Often hitting the tab key would take you to a ship with unused movement points. once you made any ships move the game would continue.

On the other hand there were other dissapearing turn problems that this would not cure, but it is worth a try.

One workaround solution to this would be to checkmark the 'skip-turns remaining' box in the options - i suppose, as it actually prevent some lapses related to any "lost" ship somewhere. I also found that the "skip" button may often hump off for a number of seconds where i feel the interface might had just crashed on me, not so. Some activity (specially in bigger maps & late turns) can get overwhelming enough to cause terrible delays for the TURN button activation - not to say, the game itself is buggy but rather that the specific situation is an indirect memory_cpu_cycle clug for a number of reasons; PCs config included.

Could very well be a problem with your videocard drivers. Do you have an nVidia card and are you using Vista? If so, check your videocard drivers. With the standard nVidia Vista drivers the turnbutton disappears and the game gets stuck.

So the tab button is taking me to ships that are on auto pilot.
The skip turns remaining box or whatever it's called is checked.
Where can I find what version I'm running? Not that it matters, I checked again, and there are no updates available, so I assume I have the latest version.

Any other ideas?

I have the game legally, but I've seen it happen too. I haven't seen it in a while, so maybe the updates fixed it. We'll see.
