I stayed at a Courtyard about 20 minutes outside of Boston just a few minutes from Burlington.
Day one: Flight was pleasent (Jetblue). Rental car was a total *female dog* Wife wqent inside to sign up and the lady said we didnt pay enough so gave us a smaller van and gave the van we were supposed to get to another person who was paying more. Then she didn't even tell us were in the lot teh van was. The lady who switched us didn't add me to the new paperwork so the old fart security guard would not let me leave the lot driving. My wife and I had to switch places. Finally arrived at the Hotel and rested.
Day two: snowing... lots and lots of snow. Took a chance and drove to the Burlington Mall. Did some shopping and by the time we left the visibility was getting pretty bad so went back to teh hotel.
Day three: Stopped snowing but roads were slick. Went to the Children's Museum. Cool place and the kids had a blast. My 2 year old, during lunch, started choking and ended up puking all over the table. It took 5 minutes to find someone to clean up and I took him to the restroom which of course was out of paper towels. Back to the hotel for cleanup and went to another childrens center closer to teh hotel.
Day four: Went to the Boston Sea Aqarium. The kids loved it but I was very dissapointed. A. Parking prices were too high. ($35.00 for 80 minutes!!) B. The Aquarium entry fee was way way too high. What it amounted too was a 4 story aquarium with smaller aquariums on each floor. I suppose had I never been to one before it would have been alright however since Seaworld is pretty much right around the corner from where I work and I have been there several times the Boston attraction pales in comparison and believe it or not the prices here in Orlando are much cheaper. Parking alone is only $9 for the day.
Day five: Returning home. Monday morning traffic is really bad in Boston. Not as bad as LA but still pretty darn heavy. Finally dropped off the van but had to wait because we could not find an attendent. When one finally showed up he was a putz. We made our way to the airport and went through security (you think it's bad? try it with 4 kids) and waited for our flight. 1 hour before departure time we get a notice that the flight has been delayed till after 6:30pm at the earliest. (the original time was supposed to be 1pm). With no guarentee that the flight would go at 6:30 we went to see about a different flight and ended up getting a flight to NYC then connecting to Orlando. Finally arrived in Orlando tired late in the evening and head to luggage pickup. We get there and WTF!!! Our luggage is already here!! We take the luggage and leave. Upon getting home there is a message for us. My Niece was preganant with twins and gave birth while we were gone. She was only 21 weeks and they were only given an 8% survivability rating. Monday morning the little girl passed away. later in the day the little boy passed away.
Even though I was complaining above it was really nice to get away for awhile and spend time with teh family since we really don't get much of a chance to do that. The hotel (Courtyard) was nice and the people were great. The Mall was so/so and had many closed shops but still the mall rocked. It has both a Lego store and a Sony Style store. Overall very cool stores. It has been 20+ years since I have really snow so this was a nice surprise and the kids loved it.
