Sorry to laugh at your misfortune but to get a starting planet with a 700% research tile and a 300% production tile and then build the wrong thing on it has to at least be worth a chuckle.   

Of course you could always build the correct building after the fact once you realize your error. The biggest screw up is when someone builds their manfacturing capital or technology capital on one of these tiles thinking that it multplies the appropriate bonus. I'm sure this has been done and once done can't be undone.   

Hopefully you have a save game that you can replay because a 700% research and a 300% production is almost as good a home planet as you can get. The "holy grail" of home planets is a 700% precursor library and a 700% precusor mine but I've never heard of anyone getting such a thing. I did *once* get almost the equivilient which is a 700% precusor mine and *two* 300% research tiles. That's *once* in about 20 months of playing.   

Can't believe I am that dumb but there is the proof.  

I would have sworn it said mfg bonus but I am also sure it did say precursor library and not mine.
