Techtree: how can I expand a research line with a new block instead of dividing the current one?

I'm currently editing the starbase fortification techs and I want to add a new independent 'block' at the end of the current starbase fortification line instead of dividing the current block further, but I don't know how to do it.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Just give your new techs a unique <Group></Group> value of their own, this will section them into a new cluster.
