I just wanted to take a few moments to let a few thoughts loose onto these forums.
First I just want to say Im a long-time gamer, since the days when computers were measured in MHz (286/66 DX2 ftw!), and have dabbled in every genre ever created. Pc Gaming is my hobby, and my escape from my mundane reality.
I have not hardcore played GalcivII, I did not purchase it until the gold edition came out. I've always been lured into other projects by my friends to join them elsewhere, which has interrupted my quests for galactic conquest.
However, each and every time I begin to play it again I am reborn into a classic genre that has had its ante upped by stardock. Each game I begin and inevitably abandon (as I need to hone my skills and enjoy the startup phase so much right now), is a new and refreshing look on quality in gaming (for me).
Stardock has presented an exemplary product, and I adore it. I plan to play galcivII constantly once more, and yearn to be as skilled as many others I have read about. I plan to pre-order the expansion, regardless of whether I think ill enjoy it or not, out of simple respect to support a company who has given me a product of such high quality.
Stardock has truly created a legendary game which I assume, and hope, will be enjoyed for a decade or more.
I've recently returned to the forums, and also wanted to thank the community who has always been respectful, enjoyable, intelligent, and kind. Coming from Hellgate:london forums where each post is a flame fest of elitist pricks battling it out, I am shocked that human beings can even be civil anymore. However, I am continually awed by the composure and passion in which the community here holds on these forums. You truly are a wise, respectful, and enjoyable community of gamers who share a common joy: The Joy of Galactic Dominance.
So I just wanted to salute stardock, as well as the community here, for their quality. I've 'been there, and done that', but this is definitely one I shall remember for ages.
Thank you all, for creating a community, and product, that I could never regret engaging in.
