...heres how I learned I took someone easles conversion saw how they did
anjust did the same but with my own data.
In general, there is many ways found in any of these mods. I also took apart much of the files already into these zips and was able to grasp a few things of importance. It looks to me though that there is NO strict (or SD validated) standard upon which anyone can adhere.
The (very obsolete) Mod guide by CariElf has an interesting comment about activation of Races; simply by adding an (Ignore)1(/ignore) to any ***would*** pull it off the init process. Haven't tried that (or a few other tricks) yet, but i will once my races are mostly done and ready to be assembled into a coherent dedicated folder.
As for the graphics tools suggested - trust me, i've got everything i need from other projects.
...Oh just to be safe changing the raconfig file doint
delete all the altarin resistance files like RaceImage02 because its
hardcoded the same goes for the dread or the pirates minors.I had to
learn that the hardway I hope that this helps.
Which reminds me of something obvious to some but hardly "comprehensible" to me (i may catch the drift later, but as of now, it really boggles my freaky mind!);
Minors validation. The raceconfig.xml has a fixed set (From Ak to Sn plus the DL) of 9. This, in fact, hints me about the option to choose (at game setting time) how many are to be included in any particular game. What if i simply want to replace all of them at once with a brand new set; by 1)overwriting the defaults or 2)appending mines to the list or even 3)deleting these race ID tags while inserting MY values.
See, it's almost as if
too many trial/&/error mix-match designing steps have to be taken just to have a MOD work as it is meant to. Functional properties included.
Considering, i'm still at some early stage of understanding the whole scope of Modding tips and proper formatting issues... i'm extremely surprised there isn't an official guideline provided by SD which
precisely indicates to us WHAT is the full MOD process and its numerous options.
Anyhow, i'll get there (probably more slowly than i want but eventually, i will). Thanks for the help above, anyway.
