Have to LOL, partly to keep from cryin' I guess.
So, I got the coffin yesterday, dropped off during the day. Wife dutifully put it by my corner of the playroom area, and I went about getting the 360 boxed up as I'm supposed to and then thought to try the Xbox 360 support site again and see if I could register my serial number before shipping the box off. Nope, still not able to do that. I call up the folks at 1-800-4MY-XBOX and ask them to check my information and they are able to find me by name, and find my Xbox 360 associated with that name. What they don't have is any e-mail address associated. I ask them to fix that, they supposedly plug in my e-mail address, but I still don't see any box associated with my name when I check the site. Argh. I'll probably try to follow-up on that over the next few days, but I'm not quite sure how I'm gonna have to work to get that fixed.
Anyway, this morning I take the box to the local UPS store this a.m. to drop it off. The gentleman that manages the place sees me coming in and says 'Ah, Xbox, right?' Apparently the guy sees somewhere around 5 boxes a day getting shipped out. Sometimes many more. He is very, very familiar with the whole process and what the Xbox 360 coffins look like. Sadly, this isn't even a UPS store that is all that busy.
He was curious how many boxes I've had to exchange/repair. This is box #5.
Oh well, at least the box is on the way back to McAllen, TX, or will be now. Roughly 2 weeks, maybe a little more before I get it back. Meanwhile I'm still nursing the spare box along playing just a little at a time.
