Not sure when this cropped up, but at some point I started getting a repeatable CTD that has not gone away with the most recent updates. If I start a game and then go back to the main menu and try to start another one, I get to the race selection screen and then I CTD when I move the mouse over one of the already chosen races. The odd thing is that the CTD is caused by the video driver crashing (nVidia using the latest Beta drivers; I'll have to get you the version when I get back home from work this evening). The reason it is odd is because it does not seem that the game should be doing anything different in terms of dealing with graphics on that screen the second time I hit it compared to the first. This is under Windows Vista Ultimate x64. I'll get you the whole debug info when I get home tonight.
Also, if I minimize the game, it crashes when I try to resume it. And, every once in a great while I get a video driver crash in the late game (after about 6 hours of playing), and instead of recovering the driver and continuing the game like Sins of Solar Empire, the game does a CTD. So, I am thinking that if you could some how program in the same feature you have in Sins that lets the game continue on a video driver crash, it would probably solve the problem.
