A Visa Check Card works just as well if you're in the US (or elsewhere they're available)--many banks offer them even with free checking accounts. That's what I use myself (glad to be credit card free). So long as your credit isn't horrible you should have no problem getting one, there's not really any requirement since it's a debit card.


I'm not even 18 and I have one as well. They work and are easy to get. And while Visa isn't as worldwide as people think (I'd have better luck here in Germany had I had a MasterCard), the web accepts Visa and that's good enough for many things.

It will be possible to pre-order using TotalGaming tokens? It's not possible now, for what I know. If not (bad news for me), at least it will be possible to get it with tokens later?

same here - don't have a "proper" credit card - they require a certain amount of regular income where i come from which i - as a poor university student - don't have.

You can also purchase a pre-paid Visa or Mastercard gift card and use it.

Can't Wait! Also, guys, don't kill yourself trying to get this out. As long as I get some beta access soon here, Im perfectly happy to wait months and months while you refine. You guys seem to have a really tight schedule on this challenging project, as well as other projects going on. Don't drive yourself crazy.

i'll give it a shot - thanks for the advice. however having an annual fee for that card (which i'll probably only use to preorder TotA) seems a bit of a waste. having paypal (or direct bank transfer) available would be preferred not only by me but others without credit card as well i imagine...
out of curiosity: why is paypal not available for pre-orders?

We don't charge the accounts until something is posted for download (beta or otherwise). Paypal doesn't support delayed transactions like that, so it can only be used for preorders while there's an open window (usually a week or so following a beta release) or after release.

Will this be avaliable at the usual time tomorrow (8pm or so ET?)- I'll try the Arceans since I never use them and they get no love.

Usually when we release a beta, there's a window where all preorders are charged and granted access immediately. Paypal can be used in this time. Though I don't know if there will be such a window with TA or not given the accelerated beta schedule.
