for all the people having money problems

Well I was reading some of the post and read alot of people compling about going into the red with there money much to often.But there is a way around this in the galciv2 libray section theres a mod called Tech edit.

and with this you make a new tech to give you lot's of money very fast.But thats not all it does you can make a research tech new weapons.all without messing with the XML yourself I know this kind of fill like cheating but its the best way to cheat without cheating.Well I hope that this helps all you modders out there.

I agree that making new techs that add benefits is cheating, however, the AI can research said techs too, so it's less of a cheat if everyone can partake. (at least they research the new techs I've added in, but I mess with the XML)

unless you're playing MV, who cares if it's cheating or not? it's your game, play it how you enjoy most (and if you mod the XML, it will cause a cheat flag on an MV game).

that said, the early-game economic crash is intentional. do you think founding dozens of interstellar colonies would be cheap? there're lots of posts in these forums about how to deal with the economic crash in the early game, so if you're interested in getting better on MV games i'd suggest checking it out.

Cuz, ya know, if i had some of that i'd probably stack it all up against a brand-spanking-new TA expansion CD and certainly, a better Graphics-card than
a stupidly annoying GEForce-4/MX4000 (bought that in April'06 for a mere 70CDN$ and a 35$ rebate from Staples!) so i could finally see the textures on ships.

Playing DL without the DA add-on is also another issue... but i've going around in Laval & Montreal to try finding a good store which would have that one in stock (Bus and Metro rides cost a LOT overhere! Pathetic, having spent 15$ in fares already, just to get a 30/40 copy of TA, double-triple---Duh.). Strangely, ordering it on-line through own StarDock processing would probably have it swiftly deliver right at my door. Quadruple----Duh... i DO NOT have a credit card.
Hey, a Bank draft Money-order could do it.
Yes, but... those banks they calculate pretty fast. 29.95(US, mind you... although our Loonie has been flying high lately at a 1.05 ratio) which i should add an extra 8$ admin-fee.
So far so, gooooood. 15$ in transport... plus this, plus that.

Only by carefully monitoring your taxing will you ever get out of the red - ask the President or anyone in the state/goverment where you are, He/She knows.

Straight bank transfer stuff gives me the creep! Wont go into details, but let's just say that recuperating money from a foreign business (bankrupt or somethin') proved to be completely useless. SD is far from getting there... sooo, i'll draft an absolutely legal money-order, stamp the envelope, and mail it to their coordinates -- plus, the waiting. Should be fun.

Then, later on for some better Video-card shopping spree. That should keep me busy for awhile and away from a PC keyboard.

Since we are on the proverbial line of thoughts, might as well...

The 29.95US$ money-order for a DA download later is in the mail. Following reception of a confirmation eMail, i will certainly show up here as fast as i can. Btw, i strongly believe this system of updating with valid serials and process of verification is a good idea. Gotta protect my investment, somehow.

As an aside, i did some terrible things inadvertantly yesterday to some registry settings (i'm guessing that was the case) and had to re-install everything over previous files. Lucky, SD-Central made such an request a smooth run. Although, i figure there MUST be a way to scan for this simple buggy situation when the exe complains about a faulty install when in fact, all the necessary components are already there.
Anyhow, all is good now. Let's just hope the DA refresh won't corrupt anything else in the 1.50.629 version setup, but i doubt it will.

All i need over the next few days is a bit more patience to end some recent frustrations with not having all of those new wonderful features included in the expansion files. Hurry up, SD! And, many thanks.
