Hello everyone!
This is my first AAR, and i'm sorry to tell you that I don't have DA
I didn't record the first few years of this galaxy very accurately, but nothing exciting happened, so your not missing anything.
I'm going to take a story-like approach, but I'll explain what I'm doing if you are confused by my tactics, just ask. I'm not very good at GalCiv2, but I enjoy it.
For the first entry I'll be putting in my civ's backstory.
The Birth of, The Endoran Coalition of Worlds:
The history of The Endoran Coalition of Worlds, less formaly known as The Endoran Coalition and commonly referred to as The Coalition, goes back 1000 years to First Contact between 4 alien races that inhabited the Endor system.
These races were wary of eachother, but relations were good. After nearly 200 years a terrorist organization killed several key leaders in three of the civilizations. Of course the new leaders of these civilizations blamed Endor III, the un-affected one, even though an attempt was made on their ruling body aswell. A war errupted with Endor III fighting on three fronts. Eventually the others allied together, but this was brief. Differences between them caused the alliance to shatter and soon everyone was at war with everyone.
500 years of war nearly destroyed them all, and thats when the probe arrived...
The probe addressed the leaders of Endor III. The transmission said the probe was constructed by the Korx, and that they wished to aid Endor III against her aggressors. Seeking any way to end the bloodshed they put forth all their effort to construct a Stargate with the designs given to them by the Korx.
Because of the constant battles fought near their space they couldn't assemble it in orbit, they had to build it in pieces then assemble it when all was ready. They're plan was to create a lunar base by hollowing out a portion of their small moon.
After 10 years it was complete, but the resources required severely depleted the war effort, and it was all they could do to defend the Stargate before they activated it.
Three days of fighting passed before the Korx ships emerged through the event horizon. The ships were magnificent. To their horror, the Korx ships annihilated every ship in orbit, friend and foe.
Realizing the mistake they had made, the builders of the gate overloaded it's reactor, destroying it utterly.
The Korx were now trapped, they had no choice but to conquer these four war-torn races, or face a long dark voyage to an uninhabitated world.
Facing a new threat the four races declared a cease-fire until the Korx could be dealt with. But when the Korx seized Endor II they all realized it would take their combined fleets working in tandem to defeat this new foe.
After two years of war against the Korx the four races grew to respect eachother, atleast their militaries did. Four years into the war the Korx were driven from the system, but the Endor system had suffered greatly. All but Endor Prime was rendered completely uninhabitable, and Endor II was in such a state that it would take centuries of terraforming before anyone could live there.
The remaining survivors of the war all gathered at Endor Prime. Each race settled a different region of the planet and rebuilt their respective civilizations. To prevent any further hostilities, and to defend against any further incursions by the Korx, the survivors created an alliance. The alliance was dubbed, the Endoran Coalition of Nations.
Although it began as an alliance of four sovereign nations, it evolved as the international government gained more power, and the governments of the planet became more unified.
After 100 years of rebuilding on Endor Prime the terraforming of Endor II began. Scientists estimated that it would reach Class 4 in 200 years, to improve it further would require research far beyond the current capabilities of the Coalition. It was also at this time that The Endoran Coalition of Nations ceased to be four seperate nations and was united under a single governing body, namely a military council.
Knowing that their were advanced races out there who could likely crush the struggling Coalition with little effort was disquieting, to say the least. So the Coalition made sure that their soldiers were always ready to counteract any attempt to threaten its independence. Amongst other things, the Coalition focused on makeing sure it could find its enemies, if the need should arise.
Recognizing the potential of the Stargate technology, a scientist by the name of Korzak secretly did research into makeing a portable version of the space folding technology behind the gate. He needed to conduct this research secretly because it was a serious crime to conduct experiments on the Hell Gate Technology, as it was called by the populace. After 20 years of working on a secret space station Korzak completed an experimental Hyperspace engine. Detecting the energy build up in his reactors Coalition authorities closed in on him. When they approached he activated his hyperdrive, stunning the crew. Needless to say, his research was officially commissioned by the Science Ministry.
By 2223 the Coalition had completed their first Hyperspace functional ship, and construction began on two new vessels, the ECS Pathfinder and the ECS Sunflower. The Pathfinder was equipped with sensors that had been salvaged from a derelict space-craft that floated into the system.
Finding that their current form of government was woefully inadaquate to govern an interstellar empire, the ruling council decided to set up a temporary dictator until they could find a way to govern an interstellar empire effectively.
While the Council made the nominations, it was the people who chose their leader. On December 31st, 2224, Sereg-Thol was sworn into public service. The young general protested the idea of a dictator, even a temporary one, and this is exactly why he was chosen. The people were sure he would cast off the mantel of leadership when the time came.
