Yor Collective Animation sort of messed up... (both dread lords and earlier)

Basically, this problem has existed since day 1, but as far as I can tell no one has ever bothered to report it, and it drives me nuts something fierce. The Yor Collectives animation when talking to you "flickers" to pure white about every 10 seconds. It's sort of annoying, and seems like a simple fix. Perhaps something could be done?

Oh, and thanks for making such a great game!

I always thought it was to simulate the static effect at the begining and end of a transmission since it seems to be at the very begining/end of the video loop.

The yor animation on my computer just runs really slow, but I've never seen it flicker.

Yeah, but it only seems to happen with the Yor Collective...

Yeah, but it only seems to happen with the Yor Collective...


Er...that is a deliberate stylistic ('set-design'?) effect; the Yor have raw energy arcing around the homestead occasionally - but don't really notice or care.

I have the same effect and it drives me insane everytime I speak to these dudes!!!! It has to be a issue, it happens just with them, what ever the issue it sucks balls!!

If you ask me, something a little bit more problematic is a render problem with the evil three-armed robot news presenter in the "New Technology Researched" screen...namely, it appears that his chest plate is not moving properly with the rest of his body...in fact, they don't move from the same spot at all. (Looks like someone forgot to add parented motion to the chest parts!) This graphical error has occurred in Dread Lords and Dark Avatar, but I expect it might be a bit problematic to fix, especially if the 3d animator/designer/modeler for that particular sequence is no longer with the company, or if somehow the source files for the animation are missing or accidentally deleted. Still, if it's not too much trouble to ask, could some time be devoted to fixing that?

The Yor are machines, so they 'see' everything as a series of digital snapshots.
That little flash contains a subliminal message meant to influence your trading practices. It is of too short a duration to be consciously detectable by others of the Yor Collective, and it works well on them. But we who see in a more analog fashion simply see an irritating flash of white light.

When it comes right down to it, the Yor are not as smart as they think.
