Where did you get the idea that 2 races were gotten rid of?? Not true. Some race characteristics change, though, notably the Drath become more diplomats, the Iconians become more spies, and the Altarians become more researchers and less Irish pookas.

One can say that the Drengin become less the embodiment of totalitarian Evil, as well, but it is only by comparison.

2 new races:
The Korath Clan is a sub-set, actually apparently a sub-species, of the Drengin. They are to general Drenganity what the watanabies are to Islam. Drengin think that Evil is good; Korath think that Evil is life...only Drengin life...anywhere. Oh, and look, we've finally developed our pantented planet killer technology to move things along.

The Krynn are sort of reptilian-insectoids, who are super-Neutral. they are very confident of themselves, very satisfied with themselves, well able to protect what is theirs, and perfectly willing to steal your knowledge to do it. They want the galaxy to be a calm stable place...even if they have to make it that way. Conveient that the other civs are crippling themselves with the conflicts of extremism, but it leaves many of their worlds in need of a firm but calming hand.

Yep, two of the races are killed off (for the most part) as far as the continuity is concerned. Like cat said though, they are playable in the sandbox but I would presume that they will not be included in a future iteration of GalCiv.

And while I know which races are getting the axe....well, Spore Ship extermination treatment, I'm not telling
