largest planet

A couple days ago I was playing a game and the Dread Lords showed up. As usual, they got whacked pretty quickly, but sadly it was not by me this time. Later on in the game I took the planet from the last surviving civ (Altarians) and discovered that it was aboslutely gi-nourmous! It was either class 35 or 38...I'll have to check when I get back home. All it had was the anti-matter generator, a starport, and the rest industrial sectors. Certainly the best forge-world I've ever had!

What is the highest PQ that other people have seen?

I think 26 is the highest BASE planet possible (without customizing)... Anything you conquer above that I believe would be a factor of race PQ quality bonuses and possible colonization events (I've never been able to confirm this, but based on the bonuses I see attached to conquered planets -- it sure seeems like the AI gets the same "pick 1 of 3" choices).

Max possible is 72.

I've seen one old forum post claiming to have encounterd a 72, in DL, when a high PQ planet got doubled, then expanded, then doubled again by random events.
I've seen several reports of planets in the 40's.

I think 27 is the highest I've encountered personally, though when I think back I did not note the count on the DL planet that showed up late in a DA game I was about to win by tech. I had it spied out and it had a lot.

The highest I've ever had was a 42. From the dread lords. I was completely overwhelmed with what to do with it. So, I made an industrial planet, with a manufacturing capital, starport and the rest industrial sectors, with a few power plants here and there. After that, I completely owned the the galaxy.
