Could I get an aquatic race? They look humanoid, but their hands are webbed, they don't have nostrils, they have gills instead, and their ears aren't visible. Their eyes are golden with a black, round pupil. Their skin ranges from red to yellow and sometimes green. I'd like if the character was underwater.

The ones you've done are great. My animation skills are limited to stick figures in Macromedia Flash.

millertime335 - A hologram race could be an interesting texturing challenge because of the transparencies involved. I will give something along those lines a shot, although I will not be replicating anything from Halo.

StormWeaver - a crystalline race could be fun to try also...again challenging texturing.

A spade is a spade - and that is definitely a copyright no-no. However, I do have an excellent idea for a crude race, which I will make for you.

Samoht - I can definitely do the aquatic race for you. The details that you have provided are very useful to me. I have some eye textures that will be just right. The underwater setting will give me a chance to play around with volumetric haze.

Hmm. First off let me say BRAVO Formis! Firstly your work is incredible, and then your offer to do things like this for the community is just as incredible! People like you make GalCiv2's community the best, hats off to you sir!

Really, I'd love to see what you could do with that holographic race, especially considering the thought behind it. I think it'd be neat to have them change as your relations changed? Perhaps a nice soft feminine looking hologram for we like you, a generic masculine one for "we dont really know much about you", and when they get mad make it some sort of fearsome raging thing - as a hologram it doesn't have to make sense and the machines would have an understanding of fear on humans - perhaps it could go so far as to have flaming eyes, though that might be a bit far out. During the military combats it could be a tough looking muscular being, too. Oooh, i drool.

I am starting on that mod I mentioned. Three races are in the game working so far. I'll start posting pictures and history on another thread. The more neat race graphics get made (all as you have time, mind you) the better it will look.

I also have a few other plans for it other than just replacing the races. . .

(scratch my first idea, someone else stole it, that'll teach me not to read the prior posts first, I'll come up with a new idea).

My second idea was for a Cosmic Amazon Space Bimbo in a Super Battle Bikini of Tiny Coverage and Maximum Titillation, but I think that might offend some sensibilities (not that I'd complain if you did it ). So how about. . . a symbiotic gestalt race of molluscs. I'm talking about a sentient but sessile clam riding on the back of a giant octopus, with like, reins and everything. Yeah.

I have a question about the movies - how do you feel about them? I don't know if anyone has noticed, but the still shots that I have in the sets are of a much, much higher quality than the movies. Personally, I prefer the stills, but I still make the movies for those that want them. The thing is, the movies take the bulk of the rendering work, yet are an inferior product to the stills. I am just curious what people prefer...I will still be making both.

As for order of fulfilling requests...I am mostly going to stick the order I receive requests, however, there are a few specific requests that I can turn out fairly quickly because I already have textures, etc. that can be adapted, which saves time. I sometimes have materials left over from other non-GalCiv related rendering projects that I can recycle. So, here is a short list of the pics I will tackle next because they can be done quickly: millertime335's hologram race, JubJub's primitive and ascended races, Samoht's aquatic race, themocaw's and Lukas' females, and possibly Drengin's robotic race.

TOV and Refar - I have been working on your non-humanoids, but they will take some time because they are more complex. TOV, I have been playing with the idea of a species that would have evolved from chaetognath ancestors. Refar, your race is one that would live in a gas giant (which I believe is something you had mentioned).

Additionally, I have some race ideas of my own, but I will back-burner them until I catch up. The list is 25 by my count, and I have completed 9...got a way to go! I notice that I have gotten pickier about what I consider "done." I did seven different versions of the caimanoid before I called it done, and I still am not satisfied with the clothing. I tried a version that had the harness made of giraffe fur and another version out of white tiger fur. I tried torques made from brushed gold and hammered gold. I eventually just went back to the original embossed steel. I tried out five different backgrounds, settled on the second one. I am much more fussy than when I did the original Frogman race.

Formis- If you will, make either the movie or stills, surprise me. Or, even do both, I really don't mind. And thanks, for doing it specially for me.
