(I'm creating a new thread for this, because I originally posted this question under the stickied H-Res Mod thread, and hadn't received a reply for three days -- I'm assuming no one checks it very often. I apologize if this is inappropriate in any way and understand f the thread needs to be removed.)
Gentlemen:
I followed the installation and setup instructions for The High Resolution Graphics Mod (the new patch version) very carefully. When I finished getting it set up and restarted DA, I knew it was working because I could see the new logo in the bottom left-hand corner of the start screen. I followed all the recommendations for graphics settings from the installation program, like specular intensity, contrast, etc.
The mod seems to work great on any home planet I start with -- I can see the change in the planet graphics and the colony screen terrain -- but there's a problem: ALL the planets in my home system (and elsewhere, I assume) are still there, but they're... black. It's like they're planets that are made out of pure obsidian -- some still even have clouds swirling around their pitch-black surfaces.
I'm pretty sure this issue isn't occurring as a result of my system not being good enough to run the mod. I have a 256 MB ATI video card with up-to-date drivers (as of two weeks ago), 2 GB of RAM, and a 2.16 gHz processor -- also a 20" widescreen LCD monitor, and all running on a very clean install of Windows XP SP2. The unmodded game (DA 1.6) runs smooth as butter on my machine even with a Gigantic galaxy full of crap and all graphics setting pumped to the max.

Any ideas?
