fatal crash error

hi, i have the gal civ 2 gold edition demo and i am having fatal crashes which require me 2 reboot the computer. basically when i start my game it crashes and the screen goes blue.

it says at the top of the bug report but anyway :

windows xp home edition (os)
dell 5100 dimension (computer)
ati radeon x600 256,b (graphics)
intel pentium 4 cpu 2.00 ghz (proccessor)
and 2GB of ram

only 2 thing come to mind.

a) Game fault, the game was corupted when it was installed and you might need to reinstall it.

a similar thing happened to me exept it affected my screen, i dont know why it didn't go on but it annoyed me. i got a new computer and it's running fine now. if this is the case then there is now way i can help you.

Sergiedel, is the normal BSOD with all the text or is it simply a solid blue screen?
If it's a BSOD you should be able to determine the faulting module or driver.

As moosetek said, if there is text on the blue screen, it should give some indication of the issue. BSODs are typically a result of a driver or hardware problem, not the software.

well it is actually a solid blue screen, with a contant buzzing sound, but i do have norton antivirus if that helps

hey, ive deleted then reinstalled the game and it works fine, however that crash error is now happening on another game. ????  so chances are its do do with my computer, although this has never happened be4

Try reinstalling that game as well.

You're right, it could be hardware going south. It could also be a file version conflict that crept in somewhere.

you have a virus protector so it's not a virus

you have very good software so it's not a fault

what game is it affecting now?

its affecting lord of the rings battle for middle earth 2 but it worked after the bug happened on that

i dont get it??????????????????????
i agree with moosetek13 reinstall the game, exept when you've unistalled it go to the search option and search for all files related to the game and delete them.(careful though! you dont want to delete nessecary files. AKA windows program files) the install it again. it worked for me when i had trouble with my games.
