Help getting Star Trek ships to have the colors of my race

Okay, I somehow managed to get the Star Trek ships from the Omega 2.0 DA mod to work in Kryo's Hull System mod by added them and then copying all the files from the Models folder in the Star Trek Beta LITE for DA mod, and they all worked, which is even more amazing since I am not able to write a mod of my own. I did it because I wanted my race to have Romulan ship designs to use.

But what I really want to do is to get the Romulan, as well as all the other ship designs to show up using the ship colors for my race. Let me show you....

So then, how can I get the ship in the 2nd pic to have the colors of the ship in the 1st pic? Is this even possible?

And if you try to help me, please take ito account that I am not an expert at this

And also do you mean a modeling program like an XML editor?

I do have one of those, all my XML files run in it, it's called XML Marker and it's very good, and best of all it's free

If you mean go into a XML file and add or edit code, that I can do

No. The models you have are the .X files, but that's not a format that can readily be reopened in most modelling programs. They're likely in binary format as well so that counts out any chance of manually tinkering with them in a text editor.

You would need the original files in the modelling program's native format, which the mod author may have or he may have found elsewhere. Then you'd need a modelling program that supports that format (3d studio max is a popular one, but it costs a LOT for the latest version--$3500 or thereabout) and the knowledge of it to make the changes needed.
