I read a little on the forums here about tech wins and made my first metaverse game with some interesting settings. I decided to go with no possible tech win, so even with researching all the tech, supposedly that won't let you win it. ( still shows up as 1% for tech win?). I also made a gigantic (biggest) map playing as the terrans, on normal difficulty...I'm playing DA, and got the dreaded 5 parsec/week rule, so on the largest map posslbe, I cannot win by tech. Also chose the option of no empire just giving up, so won't see any empires just fold because the don't have the stomach to keep going and hand their systems to the enemy.....sometimes makes an impossible situation worse because the biggest opponent gets even tougher....
Now I just got into war with all 3 of my only neigbors, pretty much a 3 sided war, but I'm higher tech than all of them and have been easily keeping the borders safe, destroying their ships, still kind of early in the game though, I am probaby the only race with cruisers....
The game is kind of insane, I mean there are so many good systems, I also racheted up the game map to abundant colonizable systems, so like so many good systems that its rather insane, I've been spending most of my time before this 3 front war just grabbing systems, and there are still many many systems near and open to grab....
I've got not 1, but 2 26 class systems. I've been playing this game non-stop for days and days, problem is that such a huge game is taxxing my system, and its a little slowish/laggish to load such a massive game setup, and I don't use governor, I've also been pretty micro-managing everything so if any possible mistakes happen its my fault, not my ability to control the computer to run my stuff.....
anyone else run a similiar set-up in DA (always give the 5 parsec/week rule)? gigantic map, no tech win, no race quitting (giving your stuff to anyone), abundant colonizble, very few meteors ( makes flag ship less valuable ), on normal difficulty.
I'm not sure but it might take me months if my computer doesn't eventually die trying to run this game, this set-up seems truly epic.....
