Can't Register my game?

HI, I bought Galactic Civilzations 2 Dread lords gold edition with Dark Avatar expansion from GAME STOP. When I try to register my game it tells me invalid????????? I've checked the numbers and I put the correct code in. I have never had a problem registering a game before! WHY NOW? All I want to do is get the game updated with patch.

Well, I think I got it now. But this is the most dificult registeration process I've ever had to do. Someone should be fired for this blunder!
