Can I turn space monsters back on?

I know there was a long thread about the return of space monsters - and I know some folks have very strong feelings against them....

but is there a way to turn space monsters back on? I can see the entry in the Anomalies XML file - and it's not commented out, but I get none of the critters so I'm assuming there's another file I need to change?

I believe they would need to be reenabled in the game's code itself, in which case they cannot be modded back in.

Forgive me if this has already been answered before, but is there any chance of them showing up in a future patch or expansion?

Houston, we got usselves a problem here. Lieutenant Dan done went and got sick and we ain't even caught one of them space shrimp on our Apollo 13 shrimpin' boat. Requestin' permission to bring the Jenny on back now, ok?
