Dark Avatar's Auto-Explore and Auto-Survey features are buggy to the point of completely slowing down the game to unplayable levels. What happens is that once the ships are "done" exploring/surveying the map, they all seem to gather at the same point at which they get "stuck" exploring/surveying. This usually happens at a planet (for scouts) or (for explorers) an anomaly that for whatever reason does not get picked up and one of the survey ships sits over. From the behavior, it looks as if all the ships are continously trying to move to that (adjacent) point and failing once whatever move timeout is hit. Besides it looking kind of comical to have all 9 races' survey ships gather at the same point in the galaxy, it makes the game essentially unplayable as each 'next turn' takes anywhere from 30 seconds and up. This is extremely apparent on the smaller maps where the first few turns go by really fast until the bulk of the galaxy is explored and you hit this bug. (This also happens in the campaign maps). This is in the latest version of the game as of this post (1.5x?).
