Not sure of where you got that idea of how pop growth occurs. It is wrong on most counts.

The initial colony base supports 6 Billion people. Each farm adds support for 3 additional Billion (with incrases to this value for the food population techs researched).

Population growth each week depends upon your planet's morale (for example pop growth is doubled with 100% morale). Base population growth is some small fraction of your current population, with an upper limit (I don't know the exact numbers here).

There are also some special projects and in-game bonuses that modify (increase) the base population growth.

Population growth was revised in one of the patches, so unfortunately the manual is out of date in that respect (as it is in many, since it went off to print in the beta and things were changed between then and release, as well as the patches since then). The wiki should be pretty accurate, though.

Popluation growth rate is increased by 100% when morale is at 100%, does that mean that population growth rate is increased by 95% when morale is at 95%? And if not, why not?

- base growth is 3% or 75 million pop, whichever is smaller,
- bonus growth from approval is added to base growth,
- this sum is increased by bonus percentage growth from abilities (Aphrodisiacs, starting growth).

The bonus from approval is calculated the following way:
- approval 20 and below population "get lost" 10% per turn,
- between 21 and 40 they don't grow,
- from 41 to 75 they grow by default rate 3% or 75 millions,
- between 76 and 99 the default rate is increasd by 25%,
- at 100 the default rate is increasd by 100% This is from the Wiki, posted by Frogboy. Keep in mind, though, these numbers reflect the number of taxpaying citizens, not necessarily the actual population. {EDIT} Seems to be an echo in here tonight. Please delete above post.

I too would like to know if this is still the case for DA. The revised manual no longer mentions the 100% approval bonus that was in the original Dread Lords manual.
Also, is there anywhere in-game that displays the current population growth for a planet?
