Calling all Modders

I have just started a site all about modding TBSs and am looking for members. Hopefully this site will become a place hwere new modders can find help and more experienced ones can host their work. At the moment there are tutorials, a forum, mod hosting and, soon, an online RTS!

Sounds great!

Chipping away at a DA beta release of the B5 mod (a beta beta?!) at the moment. There are lots of cool things in DA already - GalCiv2 keeps getting better and better

sounds very cool! we'll definately be looking into it! rav8 we are also workign on a beta beta release for DA and the Star Trek Mod - interested in exchanging information? I've already admitted in the past we referenced a lot of the work you did in the bab5 mod to avoid problems in our own (learn from others!) so was hoping we could help each other out.

Hey Renfl, always happy to share info - will post some detailed stuff on modding the new hull style system soon... have to admit I have been a little distracted by Neverwinter Nights 2 this month

Maybe we could work out a rough release timetable for mods? Say every two months, on alternating months (so there is a Trek or B5 release monthly)?

Sounds like a good idea to me, course I need to talk to Han and Knight about it as well, but I think they'll be game.


We have our hulls working fine, but are experiencing the weirdest bug I've seen yet.

At first our hulls show up perfectly fine, all the races are using the correct one and all can be seen. If we need to restart for any reason, when we reload the game, you can't see the previous ships already out there, and/or the computer races are using someone elses shipstyle... have you ran into this?

We should probably work on a modding guide ourselves! I'm sure we'd all learn a lot of the little things we may be missing, plus would be a good benefit to the modding community here.

Yeah I have run in to that... but am yet to hunt down where the glitch creeps in (number 1 on the todo list)

It only happened to some of the races and there was some other slight weirdness in the raceconfig screens - some races would use the right hull in the colony ship preview but when you go to the appearance tab there was no style selected. Haven't played the latest beta release but it's probably something we are doing wrong anyway

lol! Exactly! I'm not sure if its my bug, or a DA bug! We are experiencing the same problem where the ships show up right in the preview, but on the appearance tab they have no style selected, that didn't even occur to be as being something I did, but now that you mention it, could very well be why after loading the ships are messed up.
