The whole point of buying a console is for entertainment (unlike a PC, where you can say it is also for school, work, or what ever).
The guys waited just as long in line as anyone else (except for those who were ahead of them), and while it is a jerk thing to do, I'm sure it was very entertaining for them.
So really, the console accomplished exactly what it was built for. It was built to entertain people, it entertained them, it now entertains me by watching the video, and it will continue to entertain others.
