WHAT AM I REALLY WORTH?

Are race percentage values and others cumulative?

---OK I have had my copy of the game for months now, but due to reasons beyond galactic control I haven't been able to run it.
---Now that I have I have a simple question. When I am creating a custom player or otherwise and I note that the guy has a racial advantage of +20% economics. Then a bit further in I see that his political stance also gives him a +20% advantage in economics. I also not he has a racial advantage of +10% population growth. Then I see that his political stance gives him a +15% .
---OK so the question is does he now have a +40% economic advantage and a +35% population growth advantage - Are the advantages via race and political party CUMULATIVE? or CONCURRENT?

---I know its a simple question but I haven't played any games yet and I would like to know the answer before I start one.

Concurrent. Every bonus I can think of in the game stacks.

BTW Solid Econ, Pop Growth and Morale bonuses are a great way to start learning the game. Often new players find themselves out of income quickly. When you have some experience under your belt, try a research, military, or production based mix.

The short answer to your question is the racial bonus and the political party bonus stack i.e are cumulative.

A couple of points to add. I'm not sure what political party you're talking about here. The Federalists give a 20% economic bonus but that's it. AFAIK the only party that gives a pop growth bonus is Universalists which gives a 10% pop growth, 5% economic, 25% luck and 10% defense bonus.

Another complication about the racial bonus is that there are two different kinds. If you hit the reset button in the ability screen you clear the default abilities and you gain back the initial 10 ability points that you can spend on whatever abilities you wish. Once the abilities have been reset, some races will still have some abilities that are "free", these are the races inherent abilities.

If you try to use your ability points on a category that a race has an inherent bonus, you actually lose that inherent bonus, so don't do this. AFAIK this has been changed in DA (and perhaps in the underlying v1.40x.061 version) and the inherent bonus and the bonus purchased with ability points now stack.

Nope, no mechanical changes to the GC2 exe in the micro-patches, just comaptibility changes to the data and example mod for DA.

--- Good thing I had the Alienware 4 year all included plan. They had to basically replace the entire interior of my system with newer updated hardware. Though I have to admit that they were slower than the second coming in admitting it was their responsibility to make the whole thing like new again, but they finally did. It took almost 4 months of back and forth fighting to make it happen.
---But now I have it back and it seems to be running good so I am starting to play all these "neato" games I have been stuck just looking at.

Anyone that would put liquid and electronic parts together in the same package is totally nuts. An accident just waiting to happen.

Considering how fast modern processors heat up, I sure would not want a bunch of styrofoam near the processor when that unit fails. The evaporator head would get hot very quickly, and styrofoam tends to melt pretty fast.

Every added component is a possible failure point, and that system is so complex it would feel like playing Russian Roulette with 5 chambers loaded.

No thanks. I'll stick with my Zalman CNPS9500.

If I really want a faster system I will spend that $800.00 on a faster CPU, or get a dual-proc motherboard.

Extreme cooling is good for overclocking, but I'm not going there anymore. I was running my system overclocked and it was stable, but I got some data corruption because of it, so no more. If it's say, a dedicated gaming maching that does nothing else, who cares, but I won't risk my important data on that. Though, overclocking did make a noticable difference in performance.

Well, if you had corrupted data because of the overclocking it was not really all that stable.

And even with a gaming system, it is no fun to reformat/reinstall if/when system files get corrupted.

there a fine line that has to be drawn when you atempt to O/C i just put my puter togeter and i got pc2700(333mhz) in stead of pc3200(400mhz) so because of the M/B
my 2.2g cpu is only runing at 1.9 if i try more it will run just not stable. so far this week i`m my fourth reformat/install and don`t want no more so that is where it will stay unless that proves unstable if that happens back to 1.8 which is fast enough i guess it is just that i spent alot more for the 2.2 than i would have for a 1.8 but because it is lock at 11X ??? i`m stuck with 1.9 instead of 2.2 !! i though i could get to 2.2 but it is not supported by the M/B so the faster RAM my not have help anyway !!!but it seem to be stable at 1.9 and i have not had to do a hard boot so i guess i`ll leave it there... temps a little high at 100 % cpu usage max 50-53C about 123-127 F just hope that next summer they don`t go higher than that if they do. i`ll have to slow it down.!!!

Actually, as long as it's non-conductive, liquid cooling is a great way to cool a PC, just immerse the entire motherboard in it (but not the hard disks)

As far as cooling goes, I bought aThermaltake case. That joker has about 15 cooling fans in it. I haven't had any over heating issues since I bought it. Dropped $125 for it and am happy with the purchase.

My brother over clocked his game machine and started to have heating issues, so he cut a huge hole in the side of his computer case and mounted a regular room fan to it. Was straight up freakish looking. He named it Frankenstein. It worked well though and cost him about $2. (for the bolts and bracket)... LOL.
