Ok, I think this will be one of the first game play examples from DA…. Well, gigantic galaxy, all abundant, research very fast, 8 minor races, mega events enabled, I will be playing as the korath, as I want to build a spore super ship. By this I mean design a super ship, if anybody is familiar with the time ship from voyager, I believe it was the krenim time ship or something, from the "year of hell" episodes, I want something like that. I don’t think I’m going to finish this game in 1 sitting… I was going to stay up all night, but mom won’t let me.

A journey Begins…

I think that I have a nice place, several stars near my capitol. Will they yield vast amounts of planets? I’m researching "new propulsion techniques" to start with. No asteroid fields around my capitol; it’s my first DA game, so I don’t know if this is good or bad.

Looking at the map again, I ended up in one of the denser star pockets, the middle is a void! I consider changing to loose clusters in a new game, I did not do that before because it might start lag. I don’t like this little stars because I don’t want 5 other major races cluttered up with me.

My first world! A class 14 planet, and soon to be a fighter builder. I’m finding special planet classes like aquatic and toxic and those things rarer then I thought. I assumed anything below 10 when be some form of those planets.

Never mind…. I just found many in 1 turn. Examining the tech tree, I find the planet habitation research tree, and the spore weapons research. 60 turns! It must wait… and when I do get it, I want to put it on a huge hull.

MY GOD!!!!!

a class 19 aquatic world! I immediately switch research to be able to inhabit this find. I also locate a normal class 19 planet, so Im sending a colony ship.

13 weeks tell research complete. I want to give more money to research, but I’m cranking out colony ships with military. I have no colonized a class 19 world, the normal one I mentioned earlier. This brings my glorious empire to a total of 4 planets. The thing I hate about new planets is construction. I always start a planet by purchasing a factory, and I’ve noticed factories don’t work as well.

My research is done, and I now colonize my new world. As the year 2225 comes to a close, I encounter the thalans, but I don’t have universal translator technology. So I just respond with a cheerful "right back at ya" and close the channel. I also encounter the iconians 2 turns later.

At the start of 2226, I find the iconian home world. At this point I have finished researching laser, and I have ion drive. As I start to design a heavy fighter, I notice that some new ship parts have been added, and some removed.

I give you the blade fighter! Not much to look at, plus its slow and weak, but its cheap, under 100 billion credits.

Mining base 131 has defected. When I saw that message I thought "what the heck!?" because I don’t HAVE a mining base.in fact, I know of no asteroid fields or starbase resources on the map.

It is time I switch from colonize to conquer mode. I will research planetary conquering research, so that I may get the iconian worlds. Another mining base has defected, and I now release I confused kyrnn with korath, they weren’t my bases.

With 20 turns of waiting to go before I can build transports, and 4 agents at my disposal, I think its time for some old fashioned sabotage. I will plant them on the iconian home world, then try to find out how to destroy there buildings.

I have the spy’s on the buildings, and I think I read somewhere I can destroy there buildings… but I cant find the button.

After colonizing a world near 3 torian mining bases, they all have skulls around them…. When they defect they will be put to good use. The yor have also been encountered, I must make treaties with them and… persuade them to join us. The yor have the best tech rating ive seen, so im going to make a treaty with them. Looking at the techonolegy’s they have, im behind.

Countdown To Attack….

Planetary invasion research complete, and I’m researching laser 2 to upgrade my blade fighters. It is now late 2226, and have encountered the torians.

Success! A mining station has defected, 3 more to do. On I press ok, another one defects!

The galactic change.

The plague. My first mega event. Earlier then I expected to, it is now 2227 and it is time to get the plague cure researched. After only a few weeks, 5 billion people dead already. And the plague cure will take acople months to research.

2 weeks left until the precursor of the plague cure is researched, xeno medicine, 5 billion more dead. 11 billion people are now dead.

Oh…. Snap…. 51 turns…. In 10 turns 10 billion are dead. 36.9 billion people of my 48.7 billion people remain. My population will dwindle to nothing by then! So much for my plans to conquer the Iconians. I transfer tons of power into research, and reduce the time to 26 turns.

The other races will soon fall to me in at least a few years. By doing everything I can, 8 turns left, 31 billion people, and the other races don’t have it yet to.

And im done, the plague has ended, my population is returning, and the other races are weak. The iconians are neglecting to get the plague research, the own capital has less then 4 billion people. Conquering them shall be easy. I have also deisnged the mark 2 blade fighter, with the same amount of attack but more speed.

Im sending in transports and fighters to invade the iconians, there population of under 10 billion will easily perish. They will be conquered, sending a shock threw the galaxy. Not only this, but 8 turns left tell spore weapons research is done, allowing me to make spore weapons. As January 2228 comes to a close, I have finish researching spore technology, and my trenaports near new iconia.

Something happens on kora. I pick the evil option.

The war begins…

With the plague over for the korath clan, the iconians having only 1 known planet with over 1 billion people. Transports in position. The planet is open for invasion.

What is this word? Victory? I like this "victory!" a huge portion of there population is now gone. Ive researched medium hulls, im working on getting huge sized hulls to build my dream super-spore ship. In the past I have built god-like capitol ships, but this one will actually kill life on planets, making it even more powerful then ships designed like it. Afterafew months of war, I have yet to conquer another iconian world, they killed one of my transports. However, more transports are on the way with more fighters.

Another planet for the mighty korath. I am also researching massive hulls. The iconians beg for peace, I demand all there technology’s, money, 2 of there planets, and 30 influence points. Then, afew turns later, I declare war again, conquereing another planet.

Oh… what a surprise…. The last thing I would ever expect… COME ON!!! What is it with AI and surrendering? I hate it when they do that. By april 2229, my research into huge hulls is complete, and I can began building the hulls of my "god" ship. How ever, I still need strong weapons, defenses, miniaturization, and engines if I am going to have it be unstoppable. I work hard designing a super weapon

Finished. Or, at least the main hull. It has attack that’s not so I still need to research better things. And since I need to build the ship to view its size, I have ordered my capitol to start one. 42 turns to wait. This gives me time to research new technology’s for my super ship. As 2229 is coming to a close, I encounter the altarians. And I get ready to commence an attack with the titan….

This is not good. The torian confederation have uncovered my dream…. I really, really, REALLY want to get this ability! I would become isolated, and 5 years later, I would be unstoppable! And, the titan is built. It will be a 1 of a kind ship. 29 attack, 8 defense for mass drivers. 5 parsecs of sensor range, a speed of 17 parsecs a week, and is over11,700 meters long, and 4,700 meters wide. It weighs 20 million metric tons. It also costs over 1.1 TRILLION credits.

The end is coming….

This is it. Im testing the titan, but against an entire race. Im sending it to altarian space, where it will obliterate them. And apparently everybody is still suffering from the plague. Pathetic, I’m going to just sell it to the other races.

Wow! I guess they have a slight money problems. Im guessing that they have a population problem. You know what? Ill sell it to the other races later.

This planet was conquered after the super weapon was used. I was abit surprised. I thought the planet would lose all life, become class 0, slightly habitable, a toxic world, uninhabited by anybody. Instead it become mine. Well, I think I liked it more when I thought it became class 0, I don’t know. 1 week later, I use the titan against 4 more planets, and a snathi starbase, no damage, yet I have encountered no war ships. Another 2 turns, a snathi constructer destroyed, another several worlds taken, only altaria and wisp remain of the altarians. A turn later the altarians are gone, a war that would have taken me 10-20 turns over in 5. the torians are also realitivly stable with 730 BC and no plague cure. Let us make them unstable. The titan shall do this.

I have declared war on the torians and conquered an unarmed starbase. I also get to test the titan in against an armed fleet. A victory! 6 hp of damage, the titan started with 105. 6 hp of a lost is to much for me, the titan will be improved later. Several more torian fighters destroyed, 96/105 hp remaining on the titan. Barly a scratch.

World after world, ship after ship. The titan truly is unstoppable.

Victory is mine once again, and I am also at war with the dregin and the snathi. The titan still has a health of 75/110. it reached level one during the war. It’s getting time to upgrade the titan, I have researched the best sensors available, and new phaser technology will allow for more space. The ship has, by its self, obliterated 2 entire races. My next target is the dregin, then the thalans, then the other half of the galaxy. The new version of the titan has no defenses, more speed, and more range to see what’s out there, im going to have to continue to upgrade it.

That took about 10 turns. Another empire, no damage to the titan. I must now take the thtalan empire that’s in my corner of the galaxy, and the arceans that came when the iconians surrendered. Then half the galaxy will be mine, im going to try to win the game with only the titan.

Economy in ruins…

Almost -200 income per turn, and a treasury of -8 this has been going on for several turns, but I didn’t worry about it. It start shortly after I commissioned the titan. I researched up to galactic stock exchanges, and I will have 1 done in afew turns. After afew turns once there built, my economy is starting again.

Oh come on! The torians and then the acreans! When will I be able to get this super ability  anyway, it is now 2232, a 7 year long game so far. The titan, despite going several sectors out with its life support systems, can not reach most of the other side of the galaxy. Im researched all phasers, and im research hyper drive. In mid 2223, I realize that my blade fighters have not been touched in ages. A riot from pirates on one of my planets made me send out a fleet of 5 into battle. All of them were destroyed, only 5 damage to there ship, so im sending in the titan to make quick work of them.

DREAD LORDS!!!! The titans match is the dread lords, in a fight against them there is a chance it could be destroyed. This means I might have to build a second titan class ship. I’m researching disruptor technology, so soon I should have doom ray’s, and I could switch defense research to beam weapons. The titan class ship so far has been unstoppable, its been around for years, and im not letting it be destroyed. It has a max hp of 133, so it could stand 1 hit, and 1 hit only. There is a chance, a small one, it could kill a dread lord fighter alone. To stop these dread lords, I will build a second titan class ship. It is now may 2224, and I have decided not to build another titan, I have also given the plague cure to the terrans.

It also looks like something is wrong with the arceans.
