Yarlen was working on getting it up there. Once it is, you'll also be able to preorder for 5 tokens.

I'm not sure what to say to that Kiron, most new games today cost $49.95 and people pre-order them (Spore is $50 as a pre-order). 

The difference here is that not only do people get the game but they get the beta where they can help shape the game. 

For most people, waiting until release is the way to go.  But for people who want to influence the course of the game, pre-ordering is the way to go.

I wish I could pre-order this game, along with DA, but you don't accept paypal for pre-orders, and for some reason you can't buy tokens with paypal unless you also have a credit card.

Let me see:

DA : 25 $ - 3 token

Sins of a Solar empire: 45 $ - should be 5 token (not available yet on TGN)

Total : 70$ - 8 token

new TGN membership: 70$ - 10 token

renewal of TGN membership : 65$ - 10 token

It should be noted that when peordering with TGN token, your token account decrease immediately. Now, it is sad if you are unable to get (or renew) a TGN membership with paypal without having a credit card.

 

This game actually looks pretty promising. I may have to check it out.

Between this and all the 360 games I must have, my holiday shopping is getting difficult. Hopefully everyone will understand when their presents consists of boxes with IOU's stuffed into them.   

Hmm, looks like a very interesting game. But yea, I wouldn't pay that much in advance for something I wasn't sure about, plus only having a digital copy at the end of the day. I don't tend to pay that much for new games in a DVD case. It might not mean much to Stardock, but I like to being physically able to see what I own. I don't find the incentive of helping to shape a game during the beta enough either. I'd rather pay full whack for a game that when released was good in the first place, without having had to pay in advance to get the game playable and balanced. Should already have beta testers for that. Perhaps even give beta testers a discount for the full thing.

But oh well, until the demo is released Medieval 2 Total War beckons!

For me I have a choice, this game or DA. So I dunno yet. I only have 6 tokens left cause I bought SR2 and Massive Assualt, however the Massive Assualt DIDNT come with Multiplayer, I am VERY disappointed about that

?  Like GalCiv II, Sins has the option to receive the retail box.

Is there still time to change the game to a turn-based campaign mode with real time battles, ala the Totalwar games?

Having a real time campaign like 'Empires at war' tried is a bad idea.

Look guys , the game is totally unknown, how can you be sure that you will like it if all you have is a couple of screen shoots and back story ?

With GC it was different - I downloaded a demo, liked it , bought , then i PREORDERED Antares because I KNEW it GC style that I like , then I PREORDERED GC2 because I KNEW it is in style I like , now I PREORDERED DA because I KNOW it's a game in a style I like ...

But this "Sins" ... they MIGHT be the style I like or MIGHT NOT , I can't tell since I have no info to base my opinion on.

So why to spend $50 NOW and get something I UNSURE of, while I can spend this $50 on something else I am SURE going to like and then when demo will be available I will download it , check it and then make decision .


About my prev. price comment - it follows from the above - I could consider preordering this "grey horse" game if I knew I pay less when preordering but pay now full price and get the game way latter and even without knowing if I going to like it ... Nea

i just pre ordered it yesterday with 5 of my 10 tokens that are set to expire since i didnt know what else to get also got space rangers 2 so 3 more to go
