Does the way I vote in the UP affect my relationships with the other races? I have not noticed any real cause and effect in this area, though the affect itself could be so subtile as not to be easily recognized. If the answer to my original question is no, then I believe that this is something that should be looked at more closely. If, for example, I am trying to get to close relations with a certain race, perhaps supporting their position in the UP would be just the thing to put them over the top, so to speak. Conversely, there may be a matter that I feel so strongly about, that I am willing to actually damage relations somewhat in order to see the measure passed. Of course, this would have to be tied into espionage, since the foreknowledge of voting trends would be needed. If I know more about the Drengin Empire than Lord Kona, then bribing a clerk in the UP to let me in on the 'inside scoop' should present no problem. This may give the player a bit of an advantage; so make this strategy have a real risk. Perhaps there should be a random chance that the race in question will vote the opposite way- doh!, and absolutely scramble my plans. What do you all think?
