I posted this originally in GalCiv2 forum, I reckon it is too late to get this included in a patch set for that game, but maybe this one could address the issue:
When another races approaches me and offers to trade techs it would be nice to see my current tree to determine if what they are offering is a useless prereq. to something I have already. I guess I should remember but....
