To be honest, I find the oposite is true. I can't remember the last time I got around to taking the mars type PQ4 planet in my home system before the AI's got it, I'm out looking for the good planets.
And on the subject, what does gamespy mean by saying:

We can make custom races already, do they custom opponents?
