Question about Pre-order

I was under the impression if you pre-order the game, they don't take the money out of the account until the game is released. So I pre-ordered the game today, and then the money was taken out of my account. So....
Does this mean my copy is in the mail?

Ordered with my check card- thru the 'Purchase' link here. Money was taken from the account, and my wife caught it...

(So much for getting it under the radar...) Anyway, the money was put back in the when I checked today... So it must have just been a pre-auth check... Dang- I was really hope'n my game was in the mail... lol
