I installed a second dvd/cd-r drive in my computer the other night. Install was fine, just didn't really like having the second drive since it didn't offer what was claimed (has nothing to do with this issue), so I uninstalled it in the same sitting. Now when I log back on the remove hardware in the toolbar prompts me to do just that, but the hardware is already gone. So I do what it says and reinstall the hardware and then unplug it again and go through the process. Same issue returns at start up. PC doctor finds that there is no driver for the device, but the device isn't even installed anymore. Furthermore, when I click explore on the start tab and look at my folders there are four drives that show up, G;H;I;J. Nothing on them in terms of used memory but if I open them it seems that they have my desktop on them. Plus there's no option to delete them in my file option. And, they are identified as external bus memory device. OS is Windows XP Media Edition, HP 1410. This problem hasn't caused any issues as far as I can tell, it's just more of a nuisance than anything. Anyone know any possible solutions. Any advice would be appreciated as I am not a comp wiz.
